Work with Us
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable person to join our team of happy, helpful minibus drivers!
If you are able to commit to driving our members to and from one or two of our weekly groups, we would absolutely love to hear from you. We don’t mind if you don’t have a lot of experience as all training will be provided. We just need you to be reliable, happy to help, and a friendly face to greet our members and help them feel safe.
This is a casual role offering approximately 2-4 hours of work per week, with the opportunity for more hours available depending on special events and other groups hiring our bus. Some evening and weekend work may also be offered. Hours are not guaranteed and are flexible to the demands of the groups.
A driving licence with D1 and a DBS check is essential.
If you would like to discuss driving with us in more detail, or for support filling in the job application, please call Fiona on 07763 565 160.
The closing date for applications is 5pm Friday 7 May 2021. Return your application to email@example.com.
Volunteer With Us
PLEASE NOTE, DURING THE PANDEMIC OUR GROUPS ARE CLOSED HOWEVER WE ARE STILL TAKING GROUP VOLUNTEER REQUESTS FOR SUPPORT AFTER THE LOCKDOWN – we are asking these volunteers if they wish to support members of those groups in the meantime via our Together At Home project or with Video-calls, ready for when we can all meet again at the groups. As some of the paperwork (for example waiting for references or the criminal record check) can take some time we would encourage those thinking of volunteering with us after the lockdown to STILL GET IN TOUCH NOW using the form at the bottom of this page.
We run a variety of social and activity groups as a way of preventing isolation, interacting with others in a similar situation and providing stimulating activities to those who would not ordinarily receive them. People do not need to bring a carer to attend any of our groups, meaning people without family support (or those whos family are in work) are able to attend our groups, particularly through the use of our minibus. This also means carers are able to take a few hours break from their caring role.
Some of the groups do allow family carers to also attend with the member, and we also have a dedicated carers group, to share experiences and tips, and develop support networks.
Our groups are fun hives of activity, where laughing and joking are key ingredients. Without the support of volunteers our good work would not happen.
Thank you for your interest in our work. Please apply to volunteer with us by emailing the Volunteer Expression of Interest Form below to firstname.lastname@example.org
