Volunteer Co-ordinator

We are seeking an experienced, organised, dynamic and innovative Volunteer Co-ordinator to recruit, manage, nurture and develop volunteers across our organisation. It is not essential for potential candidates to have pre-existing knowledge of Dementia as this training can be provided.
The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively, be confident in delivering training, comfortable leading in group settings, and able to provide effective monitoring and evaluation of our volunteer provision. They will be willing to work in partnership and learn from other community organisations and establish relationships with volunteer organisations in our local area. Recruitment and retention will be a strength, with innovative approaches to reaching new people, getting them on board, and converting them into loyal, dependable, and valued volunteers.
Together Dementia Support is passionate about improving quality of life for people affected by Dementia. We provide high-quality activities for people, helping them to maintain skills, physical health, and emotional wellbeing. We are also committed to the support of family carers, enabling them to have regular breaks or to enjoy the company of others.

Hours
35 hours / 5 days per week OR 28 hours / 4 days per week
We are open to offering this role on either a full time or part time basis depending on the needs of the successful candidate.
Salary
From £25,994.00 per annum full time, or pro rata for part time
Role description
This role requires someone with energy, ideas, and a good understanding of the voluntary sector to recruit, train, nurture, develop and manage volunteers across our service. The Volunteer Co-ordinator will work closely with the Business Support and Service Delivery managers to identify ongoing volunteering needs for the organisation and will establish an ongoing rapport with current volunteers to identify areas for development, training or improvement of our service delivery. They will also help to manage and deliver the Together at Home arm of our delivery, matching volunteers to members and carers, providing training support and supervision, and reporting on monitoring and evaluation of the service.
The organisation is currently striving toward Investing in Volunteers quality standard, and the Volunteer Co-ordinator will work to bring us in alignment with approval criteria, will further develop and formalise the role of Lead Volunteer within our groups, and ensure the efficient induction of new volunteers to the service. They will have an expressed commitment to the involvement of volunteers and recognition that volunteering is a two-way process that benefits volunteers and the organisation. They will be an advocate of our volunteers and represent and feedback their best interests at organisational and strategic level.
The post requires energy and excellent communication skills to reach a wide variety of people from many different backgrounds and communities. The post holder will deliver training on safeguarding, health and safety and volunteering, and occasionally provide cover to lead one of our Dementia social groups. Organisation will be a key skill, with the ability to manage their own workload and diary, training and recruitment schedules, volunteer needs and regular social events for the volunteers.
