If you are an experienced driver and would like to help out in your local community, why not volunteer to drive our Torneo or minibus? People in your local area depend on the transport we provide in order to get to groups and access vital support. If you are interested in volunteering as a driver for us, you must have a clean license and be willing to take part in a test drive of the smaller Torneo vehicle. Please submit an Expression of Interest Form (http://www.togetherdementiasupport.org/volunteer-eoi)if you would like to volunteer, or you can apply for one of our paid driver roles by visiting the Current Vacancies page on the Jobs Board.

Together at Home is our service for people who are unable to attend our group-based delivery. Volunteers will be matched with a person living with Dementia and their carer and given training so that they can visit once a week to do some fun, social, creative, music-based or gentle exercise activities. If you would prefer to work 1:1 instead of in a group, please submit an Expression of Interest (http://www.togetherdementiasupport.org/volunteer-eoi)Form and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. Here is a short video showing the importance of this service on members and volunteers: Role Description Together at Home volunteers need to be knowledgeable, confident, reliable people our members can depend on for a regular form of weekly contact, either over the phone or face-to-face at their home. Volunteers on the Together at Home programme must complete a 1 day training course before they can be matched to a member, and they will then contact that person once per week. Volunteers must update Together Dementia Support after each contact. ⭕️ Attend a 1 day training course specific to Together at Home programme delivery ⭕️ Contact their member regularly, once per week, either over the phone or via home visit ⭕️ Complete relevant post-visit/contact feedback forms and return to manager If you are interested in becoming a Together at Home volunteer, please click here to complete our Expression of Interest Form.(http://www.togetherdementiasupport.org/volunteer-eoi) Here are some articles written by volunteers of their experiences:

Dementia Cafes are a great opportunity for carers of people living with Dementia to socialise and share their experiences.     Many of the carers who attend the cafes are struggling and need a break but still have to bring the person they care for with them.   Whilst the carers are able to get massages, share their concerns and gain advice from our Carer Support Leader and admiral nurses, our volunteers are a helping hand on the opposite side of the room for the people living with dementia.   As a volunteer you will chat, do activities and be a general support to people living with dementia, many of which will need 1:1 support. This support will include:   Chatting to members and generating conversation about old and new experiences Getting members tea, coffee and snacks Keeping their brains active with quizzes and puzzles Getting creativity flowing with colouring and painting   The dementia cafes are only once a month so if you have less time available to volunteer every week, this could be the volunteering opportunity for you. If you would like like to apply to volunteer with us, please complete our Expression of Interest form and someone will be in touch as soon as possible.
