Volunteering with us

Volunteering is a rewarding and fulfilling way to make a difference in your local community. Without volunteers, TDS wouldn't be able to deliver the vital support desperately needed across Manchester and Trafford to enable people to live positively with Dementia.

For our volunteers, we provide a comprehensive induction and training process to ensure they are confident working with people living with Dementia and their loved ones. We will give you valuable tools and life skills that will help you develop personally and professionally, too.

If you are interested in volunteering with us, please complete the Expression of Interest Form below.

Types of volunteering roles available

Group
Volunteers

Group volunteers assist in the running of our groups, helping out with activities such as arts and crafts, music and social exercises etc.

If you want to come along, get to know some new people and take part in some fun activities, this may be the role for you.

Service Volunteers

Service volunteers are volunteers who wish to support the service in other ways, such as providing administrative support or help with marketing and communications.

If you have skills you think we'd find useful, get in touch!

Together at Home Volunteers

Together at Home is our service for people who are unable to attend our group-based delivery.

Volunteers will be matched with a person living with Dementia and their carer and given training so that they can visit once a week to do some fun, social, creative, music-based or gentle exercise activities.

If you would prefer to work 1:1 instead of in a group, please get in touch.

Lead
Volunteers

Lead Volunteers take part in our group sessions and have extra responsibilities, such as leading activities, helping set up, and feeding back to the Charity regarding groups.

Lead Volunteer positions are only available to people who are already part of our group volunteer pool.

COVID-19 Vaccines

In the current landscape of COVID-19 and the vulnerable nature of our members, we are strongly encouraging all volunteers to take up the COVID-19 vaccine in order to work with us.

If you would like more information about our COVID-19 precautions, please see our dedicated COVID-19 Information Page
