Volunteer with Together Dementia Support

Volunteering is a rewarding and fulfilling way to make a difference in your local community. Without volunteers, TDS wouldn't be able to deliver the vital support desperately needed across Manchester and Trafford to enable people to live positively with Dementia.

For our volunteers, we provide a comprehensive induction and training process to ensure they are confident working with people living with Dementia and their loved ones. We will give you valuable tools and life skills that will help you develop personally and professionally, too.

At the moment, we are only recruiting for Together @ Home volunteers.

If you would like to apply to be a T@H volunteer, please contact suafina@togetherdementiasupport.org and she will send an application form to you.

Applications for all other volunteer roles will reopen in the New Year.

Types of volunteering roles

Group volunteers assist in the running of our groups, helping out with activities such as arts and crafts, music and social exercises etc.

If you want to come along, get to know some new people and take part in some fun activities, this may be the role for you.

Volunteer Driver

If you are an experienced driver and would like to help out in your local community, why not volunteer to drive our Torneo or minibus? People in your local area depend on the transport we provide in order to get to groups and access vital support.

We also offer driving roles as a paid role. Please see our Current Vacancies page.

Service Volunteers

Service volunteers are volunteers who wish to support the service in other ways, such as providing administrative support or help with marketing and communications.

If you have skills you think we'd find useful, get in touch!

Together at Home Volunteers

Together at Home is our service for people who are unable to attend our group-based delivery.

Volunteers will be matched with a person living with Dementia and their carer and given training so that they can visit once a week to do some fun, social, creative, music-based or gentle exercise activities.

If you would prefer to work 1:1 instead of in a group, please get in touch.

Lead Volunteers take part in our group sessions and have extra responsibilities, such as leading activities, helping set up, and feeding back to the Charity regarding groups.

Lead Volunteer positions are only available to people who are already part of our group volunteer pool.
