Exploring Dementia Research and Emerging Treatments

We’re pleased to share the work of Mohamad Fasrah Farhan bin Faudin, a Biomedical Science student at the University of Manchester, who is currently undertaking a final-year science communication project focused on emerging treatments for dementia.

Inspired by his personal experience as a caregiver to his mother, who has been living with dementia since 2024, Mohamad is passionate about improving public understanding of dementia and making scientific research more accessible to everyday readers.

His website explores a wide range of dementia-related topics, including:

  • Emerging treatments and medicines for dementia

  • The latest research developments

  • Diagnosis and patient care

  • Lifestyle interventions that may support people living with dementia

  • The history and development of dementia medications

The platform has been created to help bridge the gap between scientific research and public understanding, presenting complex medical information in a clear and accessible way.

Mohamad hopes to continue developing and updating the website beyond his university project as part of his ongoing commitment to raising awareness of dementia and highlighting the work of researchers and healthcare professionals in the field.
