We’re delighted to share a special glimpse into our Pyaari Yaadein Friendship & Activity Group.
The group meets weekly at The Amani Centre, Moss Lane East, Manchester, M16 7DG, 11 am – 1 pm for £8.00 with transport on the TDS minibus for £6 if required.
What is Pyaari Yaadein?
Pyaari Yaadein, which means “Precious Memories” is a bespoke project created to engage older adults from South Asian backgrounds, particularly those living with dementia and their carers. Together, we celebrate heritage, reminisce, and embrace the beauty of both South Asian traditions and British life.
Led by the compassionate and dedicated Shabnam Parveen, our sessions are run by trained professionals fluent in a variety of South Asian languages and dialects. This allows everyone to feel understood, supported, and safe, with language never being a barrier to connection.
What Happens at the Group?
Every session is filled with warmth and purpose – from music and dance to storytelling, crafts, games, and lively cultural celebrations. Our focus is on joy, dignity, and creating meaningful moments, while also offering support for carers in a relaxed and inclusive environment. Pyaari Yaadein is truly a lifeline and a weekly highlight for many of our members.
