Did you know that Together Dementia Support has devised an innovative ‘Together At Home’ service? This proved to be of vital importance for many of our members living with dementia. Our staff and volunteers were able to:
- Offer doorstep visits
- Take around activities to be completed in the comfort of the members’ home
- Deliver soup and homemade cakes (Sally is an ace baker!)
- Telephone call follow ups
Our visits helped to prevent the isolation which many of our housebound members feel and we offer the service to those for whom attendance at our groups is not possible, for whatever reason.
Here's what one of our carers wrote:
“As a carer, things have been very challenging but on a number of occasions members of the TDG team have provided various stimulation packs and occasional outdoor visits for my mum............
I wanted to take this opportunity to say a BIG Thank You for all you continue to do during this very difficult period ............I wish for better days for us all.”
