Data security update

Together Dementia Support recently identified a data security incident affecting Beacon CRM, a third-party supplier we use to store some of our records. We're publishing this notice for anyone who hasn't yet heard from us directly.

What happened

On 3 August 2026, Beacon told us they had found unauthorised access to their systems, which are used by many charities across the UK, not only us. We reported this to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, on 5 August 2026, as required by law.

What we want to assure you of

- Our database does not contain bank account numbers, sort codes, payment card numbers or card security codes. These details are held separately and have not been affected.

- There is currently no evidence that any personal information has been published or misused.

- The support and services we provide have not been affected, and continue as normal.

What we've done

We've contacted everyone we've been able to reach directly, by email, text message, telephone, and post, to explain what happened and what it means for them. If you believe your information may have been affected and you haven't heard from us, please get in touch using the details below.

What to do

There's nothing you need to do as a precaution. It's sensible to be a little cautious of any unexpected contact asking for personal or financial information, and to get in touch with us directly if you're ever unsure.
