In honour of Volunteers Week, we’re thrilled to launch our brand-new volunteering film, a heartwarming look at the incredible work our volunteers do to support people living with dementia in Manchester.
We simply couldn’t deliver our vital services without our volunteers. They are the heart of everything we do and key to ensuring our support remains sustainable and effective.
Take a moment to watch the film, meet our amazing volunteers, and see the difference they’re making.
This film, made possible thanks to funding from One Manchester and produced in collaboration with our dedicated Volunteer and Dementia Support Co-ordinator, Mary Sharples, offers a window into the Together Dementia Support volunteering community.
"I'm really proud of our volunteering community, and I think this video captures the generosity, care, and commitment that our 100+ volunteers share with us and our members each week." - Mary Sharples, Volunteer and Dementia Support Co-ordinator
At Together Dementia Support, diversity is our strength. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, just like the people we support. You don’t need any prior experience or specialist knowledge to get involved. If you have a willingness to listen, to learn, and to care, you’re already halfway there.
We’re equally committed to developing our volunteers, which is why we offer high-quality induction and ongoing training. 75% of our volunteers strongly agree, and 24% agree, that our induction training helped them feel prepared and informed.
If you're feeling inspired, we’d love to welcome you to the team.
