Dementia Action Week 2026 at Together Dementia Support

"Celebrating what people living with dementia can do" with the right support

Dementia Action Week is a chance to shift the focus away from loss and towards what’s still very much possible. At Together Dementia Support, that’s what we see every day. People living with dementia cooking, creating, laughing, connecting. Carers holding so much together quietly in the background.

Last year, TDS supported 935 people across Manchester - 513 carers and 422 people living with dementia. That number keeps growing, and so does the need.

We’re a charity that isn’t commissioned, which means we don’t have guaranteed funding coming in. The work only happens because of the people around us including individuals, families, communities, and local supporters who choose to back what we do. Without that, support after diagnosis can be patchy, and too often, people only reach help when things have already reached crisis point.

So, Dementia Action Week isn’t just about awareness. It’s also a reminder that this work only continues with community support behind it.

What are you doing for Dementia Action Week?

It might be attending an event, telling someone about us, donating, or simply showing up and being part of it. It all matters.

Donate and support our work

We’re aiming to raise £2,000 during Dementia Action Week to help keep our Groups, activities and support running.
