Event Report by Solomon Hayes
Friday the 18th of November. A night that TDS will forever cherish. Our Together in Song Gospel Choir wowed us with some out of this world performances.
It started off with some wonderful songs from the whole choir, with favourites such as ‘Down by the Riverside‘ and ‘Lean on Me’.
One moment that truly touched me was the performance from TDS member and Limelight resident, Daphne Richards. Despite having many difficulties in communicating and thinking, she was able to recall this favourite song – ‘Amazing Grace’ - proof that if you enable people with Dementia, they can achieve more than we expect.
Nobody left the show with dry eyes and the powerful speeches from the choir lead Kadria left a lasting impact on me. It truly appeared to be like a family performing on that stage and you could feel the connections between them.
We also had some extra special performances from our extremely talented volunteer, Danny, and Dementia Group Leader, Dorothy. We still can’t get over how amazing they sounded!
It’s safe to say the night was a success and we raised a whopping £876!
We want to thank everybody who attended and gave their money to help keep our work going. The choir will be back again in full force to entertain and inspire us again. Watch this space!
If you enjoyed this night, then you will likely enjoy our next fundraising event on the 21st of December. The CANTIBUS Choral Ensemble Choir are performing Christmas classics, with all proceeds going to us. You can buy your tickets now!
